Steam Deck OLED just got a price hike, but another SteamOS handheld on the market is heading the opposite direction. For comparison, Best Buy still has it listed at close to $1,000.

The Z2 Go chip powering this handheld isn't exactly a showstopper—performance lands roughly in the same ballpark as the pricier OLED Steam Deck, handling indie titles just fine but requiring you to dial back graphics settings for anything more demanding. What actually makes this machine worth a look is the display: an 8-inch IPS panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate and variable refresh rate support, which isn't exactly common at this price point.

When The Verge reviewed the Legion Go S back at its 2024 launch, they tested both the Windows and SteamOS versions side by side, and the verdict was clear—the SteamOS version felt noticeably better to use, mostly thanks to the overall experience, even though Windows has been catching up lately.
