Rubber Man's stretch, the Surgeon's spatial precision, and the burn of flame — all built straight into the upper. That's the core logic behind Nike's latest collaboration with One Piece. Each of the three Air Max Plus pairs corresponds to a specific Devil Fruit: Gomu Gomu no Mi, Ope Ope no Mi, and Mera Mera no Mi. Every upper is a collab-exclusive reconstruction, not just an existing colorway with new graphics slapped on.

Nick Remlinger, General Manager of Nike Energy Gaming, said in a statement: "We drew inspiration from the moment One Piece characters unleash their powers after eating a Devil Fruit — it's the same feeling an athlete gets when they put on Nike." That line captures the whole concept behind the collection: translating the manga's power awakening into the functional storytelling of a sneaker, rather than just slapping a character print on the shoe.
