Right after posting its first-ever profitable quarter, Peacock's next move was to raise subscription prices again.

The NBCUniversal-owned streamer announced a price hike—its fourth in four years. The ad-supported Standard plan will go from $10 to $13 a month, while the ad-free Premium Plus tier rises from $17 to $20. Even the bare-bones Peacock Select plan—which only includes select seasons of NBC and Bravo shows—is increasing from $8 to $9 a month.

New and returning subscribers will see the new pricing take effect immediately, but existing subscribers get a grace period—they'll keep their current rates until September 17.

Rather than leaning on original scripted content, Peacock's pitch to subscribers has always centered more on reality TV. Its library includes the full Bravo lineup, "The Traitors," and a whole slate of Love Island content—beyond the flagship "Love Island," there's the spinoff "Love Island: Beyond the Villa" and the competition series "Love Island Games." For viewers glued to these shows, $20 a month might not be a dealbreaker.

Peacock isn't the only platform treating price hikes as a routine adjustment. Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV, Paramount+, and YouTube Premium have all raised their prices in recent years too.
