22 Years After Supreme, Erin Magee Named SKIMS' First-Ever Chief Design Officer

Just last week Erin Magee announced her departure from Supreme on Instagram, and this week she's landed at SKIMS as its first-ever Chief Design Officer, with Kim Schraub simultaneously promoted to Chief Brand Officer.

22 Years After Supreme, Erin Magee Named SKIMS' First-Ever Chief Design Officer

On August 20, Erin Magee posted a farewell message on Instagram: "Being part of the World Famous Supreme Team has been the honor of a lifetime." Four days later, her next move became clear—SKIMS officially announced on August 24 that Magee would become the brand's first-ever Chief Design Officer.

Only a weekend separated the two announcements. 22 years is how long Magee spent at Supreme, having joined the brand in 2004 and held multiple roles over the years. She wasn't idle on the side, either—in 2007 she founded the women's streetwear label Mademe, which went on to collaborate with Dr. Martens, Alpha Industries, and even Courtney Love's band Hole. That side career, in some ways, explains why she had somewhere to go after leaving Supreme.

This isn't the only personnel shakeup at SKIMS. In the same announcement, Kim Schraub was promoted to the newly created role of Chief Brand Officer. For a brand that started with shapewear and continues to expand its global footprint and product lines, filling both top design and brand roles at once doesn't feel like a coincidence.

In an official statement, Magee toldWWD: "SKIMS has done something rare—building a brand that is both deeply personal and universal." She said she's inspired by the brand's commitment to design, innovation, and "solutions for every body," adding that she's looking forward to pushing the brand's creative boundaries alongside the team. Her role at SKIMS will span creative direction across design and product.

Kim Kardashian also personally responded to the appointment: "I've admired Erin's work for years. The way she designs with such a strong point of view while staying so connected to her audience is something I really respect." She added that Magee knows how to create things that truly resonate, saying, "I'm so excited to welcome her to SKIMS."

A designer who spent 22 years in streetwear now stepping into a brand that started with shapewear and has since expanded to a flagship on London's Regent Street—the trajectory alone is worth noting. As for where Magee will take SKIMS' design language from here, the official announcement offers no specifics on timeline or the direction of her first collection.
