One line captured the DeFi industry's growing anxiety over the pace of U.S. regulation. In an interview with The Starting Block, Aave founder Stani Kulechov said that if U.S. crypto legislation continues to stall, the DeFi industry may end up having to follow a "Uber path."
The timing of this remark wasn't a coincidence. Just before the interview, the Clarity Act—seen as a key regulatory framework for the crypto industry—failed to pass a Senate vote, once again throwing into uncertainty the legislative process that many had hoped would draw clear compliance boundaries for DeFi and decentralized protocols.
