While most publishers are scrambling to push their release dates back to dodge whatever player attention Grand Theft Auto 6 is about to vacuum up, The Binding of Isaac: Repentance+ Online is doing the opposite—locking in its console launch for November 19, the exact same day GTA 6 drops.

Developed by Edmund McMillen, this version builds on the original The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth by adding online functionality, supporting up to four-player co-op, and bundling in every expansion this dungeon-crawler has released over the years. Starting November 19, players will be able to jump into this edition on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Repentance+ Online isn't exactly new. It's been available as a PC beta since 2024, though reception was mixed at best, with some players calling out performance issues and bugs. This console launch marks its first full-scale debut since that beta run wrapped up—and also its first time competing for attention during the busiest release window of the year.

2026 was already shaping up to be a packed year for McMillen. Back in February, he dropped Mewgenics, an entirely separate dungeon-style game with no ties to the Isaac franchise. Less than a year later, he's rolling out this years-in-the-making online edition—timed, whether intentionally or not, right alongside the gaming industry's biggest event of the year.
