'BLEACH' Thousand-Year Blood War Arc Ep. 45 Debuts "Blood-Locked Ichigo," Kubo Tite Himself Draws Orihime

Dropping new character visuals and a debut video the very next day after an episode airs — that kind of pace is rare in BLEACH's anime adaptation history, which says a lot about how much this episode matters. Adapted from Kubo Tite's original manga, the final season BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Conflict - premiered on July 25. Right after Episode 45 aired, the official team immediately released new visuals and a debut video showcasing protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki's brand-new "Blood-Locked Ichigo" form.

This episode also made adjustments to the original storyline, giving female lead Orihime Inoue more screen time and room to shine. After it aired, plenty of viewers weighed in with comments like "skip this episode and you've basically watched the whole season for nothing," calling it the one you absolutely can't miss so far this season.

Even rarer was the original creator's own reaction. After the episode aired, Kubo Tite posted an illustration centered on Orihime Inoue on his own X account, and the post drew over a thousand replies. The official team has yet to reveal further details about the "Blood-Locked Ichigo" form's setup. How this storyline develops in upcoming episodes remains to be seen as the anime continues its run.
