CLAYGE Splits Its Shampoo Lineup: Classic S Series for Oil Control, All-New FS Series Targets Fine, Dry Scalps

Japanese hair care brand CLAYGE builds its lineup around mineral clay and herbal hot-cold SPA care. The classic S Series focuses on oil control and volume for oily scalps, while the all-new FS Series extends care to combination and dry scalps plus fine, damaged hair — alongside a newly launched sea mud repair hair oil mist.

CLAYGE Splits Its Shampoo Lineup: Classic S Series for Oil Control, All-New FS Series Targets Fine, Dry Scalps

Using the same shampoo on every scalp in the family tends to expose the cracks in summer: some people get an oily, flattened scalp two hours after washing, while others end up with frizzy, dry ends. This time, CLAYGE CARE & SPA isn't rolling out one "all-purpose summer shampoo" — instead, it's splitting scalps into two types and giving each its own solution.

CLAYGE is a Japanese hair care brand beloved by consumers in both Taiwan and Japan, long built around the core concept of "mineral clay × herbal hot-cold SPA," offering a full routine from scalp cleansing and conditioning to strand repair. The brand's best-selling Sea Mud Shampoo S Series has long been the go-to choice for oily scalps and limp hair, while the recently launched FS Refreshing Volume Series extends that care to combination scalps, dry scalps, and fine, flat hair.

The Fix for Oily Scalps: S Series Starts by Lightening the Load

High heat and humidity make oily scalps even more obvious. As oil and grime build up, it doesn't just cause stuffiness and odor — it also gradually flattens once-voluminous roots against the scalp. The S Series (Volume & Smooth) uses mineral clay plus sea mud to deep-clean excess oil and buildup from the scalp, cutting the burden on roots at the source so hair can naturally bounce back after washing.

This line also carries on the brand's signature herbal hot-cold SPA concept: menthol delivers a refreshing sensation, while ginger root extract and botanical ingredients condition the scalp. As it washes away sticky excess oil, keratin penetrates and repairs the hair, keeping roots voluminous while ends stay smooth.

A Different Path for Fine, Dry Hair: The All-New FS Series

The FS Refreshing Volume Series isn't targeting oil — it's targeting "weight." It's still aimed at fine hair prone to flatness, but this time for combination and dry scalps, shifting the focus from oil control to a light, airy feel. The cleansing formula uses gentle amino acid surfactants that cleanse the scalp while preserving moisture, so it won't strip dry scalps the way heavy-duty oil-control products can.

For scalp conditioning, the FS Series combines Moroccan highland mineral clay and natural sea mud with centella asiatica (cica) and houttuynia cordata extract. Strand repair relies on ceramides paired with a dual-keratin repair concept, so fine, color- or perm-damaged hair stays clean while retaining softness and lightness — no post-wash frizz.

The Finishing Touch for Combination Scalps: Sea Mud Repair Hair Oil Mist FS Series

For combination scalps — oily roots, dry ends — traditional hair oil is the enemy: the moment it touches the scalp, it turns greasy and weighs hair down. CLAYGE's newly launched Sea Mud Repair Hair Oil Mist FS Series solves this with a fine-mist nozzle, evenly spraying a blend of five botanical essential oils and silk-nourishing ingredients onto the hair — nourishing only the ends, never the scalp. Used daily, it shields hair from the dryness, frizz, and curling caused by summer UV rays and humidity, keeping hair light, smooth, and naturally shiny, while doubling as everyday protection against environmental damage for all scalp and hair types.

From the S Series to the FS Series, CLAYGE's logic this time is clear: figure out your scalp type first, then decide what to wash with. Pricing and launch dates for both series and the mist haven't been announced yet — interested shoppers should keep an eye out for updates from retailers.
