ALL STAR POINTEDTOE, launched by Converse Japan on June 19, 2026, has recently appeared on the reading popularity list of Japanese fashion media. It is not a new shoe that was released in October, but a silhouette update that continues to attract attention: changing the familiar ALL STAR toe into a sharper shape, while retaining the basic design language of canvas shoes. POINTEDTOE changed?
The biggest change in this series is the pointed tip. Compared with the common round-toe ALL STAR, the lines at the front of the shoe are narrower, making the canvas shoes look closer to neater casual shoes or bag shoes. The upper is still made of canvas, and gloss processing and single-layer strips are added to reduce the visual heaviness on the side.
is officially positioned as an ALL STAR that can be worn more formally. This is a styling direction, not a material or performance that converts canvas shoes into formal leather shoes; you should still check the specifications of the upper, insole and outsole when purchasing. Officials also indicate the use of cushioning insoles, but the actual wearing feel still needs to be judged by personal foot type and usage habits.

How to choose between HI and OX? First look at the trousers and ankles
The high-top HI is available in black, white and classic red; the low-top OX is available in all-black color. Japan announced that both shoe styles are priced at 8,800 yen, with sizes ranging from 22 to 26 centimeters. They share the pointed toe design, and the main differences are in the height of the shoe tube, the exposed range of the shoe mouth, and the color choice.

If you want to use shoes as a casual element between a shirt and suit trousers, you can first compare the boundary between low-cut and trouser legs; if you like to wear short skirts, shorts or exposed socks, high-cut shoes will have more of a shoe shaft. If the trousers cover the shoe opening, the difference between the two models may not be as big as looking at the product photos alone. You should consider the clothes you usually wear together.

The pointed toe looks good, but it should also leave appropriate space for the toes.
When choosing pointed-toe shoes, you cannot judge the size just by whether the front end touches the toe of the shoe. The pointed part may belong to the modeling space. The widest part of the foot, the height of the instep and whether the heel is stable are also worth confirming. It is more reliable to first use the brand size chart as a starting point, and then actually compare it in the channels where you can try it on, than directly copying other ALL STAR sizes.

This design also shows that updating classic shoe styles does not necessarily require adding thicker soles or more complex accessories. Just changing the toe, girth and surface gloss can make the same type of canvas shoes suitable for different dressing situations. If you already have several pairs of round toe models, these visible differences are more worthy of comparison than simply adding another color scheme.
