Choosing a 12L–25L daypack: capacity, access and everyday commuting
Trailblazer 20, Nano 18, Trail Lite 12 and Mantis 16 organize storage differently. Capacity is a starting point; usefulness depends on your actual packing list.
When planning a short outdoor trip in autumn, it is not necessary to select the largest backpack.
Korea’s recent product selection ranges from 12L to 25L, covering brands such as Salomon, Gregory, The North Face and Arc’teryx. The capacity number provides a starting point, but how you place water, coats, food, and computers often directly affects the feeling of use throughout the day.

For a 12L small backpack, first think about what items should be easily accessible
The North Face Trail Lite 12 concentrates the capacity into a smaller volume.
The shoulder straps are equipped with elastic mesh and zipper storage, and the chest strap, external elastic cord and equipment fixing positions are arranged.
This direction is suitable for thinking about whether mobile phones, water and jackets need to be accessed without completely removing the backpack.

A small bag does not mean that any trip is easy. If jackets, rain gear and drinking water have already taken up the interior, additional food may need to be rearranged. Before going out, you can sort out the necessary items to make sure they can actually fit in, instead of just looking at the outline of the empty bag photo.
18L to 20L, clearly understand the main space and small objects partitions
Gregory Nano 18 provides a more complete day bag orientation with its main space, external pockets and storage details;
you can observe where keys, small accessories, water bags and water bottles are placed.
If different items have fixed locations, you don’t have to rummage through the same large compartment when accessing them.
Salomon Trailblazer 20 provides 20L capacity, back panel and shoulder strap configuration, and side storage designs.
When comparing, you should confirm the specific generation and product page.
You cannot directly apply the weight or pocket configuration of a certain version to all Trailblazer 20s with the same name.

Mantis 16, how to put commuting and outdoor items in turn?
Arc’teryx Mantis 16 has a shape that is easier to wear in the city, with internal partitions and side water bottle storage, making it suitable for daily commuting needs.
If you want to store your computer, hydration bag or travel items in the same bag, you need to confirm the size and protection method, rather than assuming that any device is suitable just because of the existence of compartments.

When trying it on, it is also worth putting ordinary items in it to observe the fit of the back panel, the position of the shoulder straps and the center of gravity.
The comfort of an empty bag cannot fully represent the feeling after it is filled, especially items of different lengths, which may change the shape and fit of the backpack.
25L increases the space and also rearranges the weight
K2 Ares 25 provides a large capacity and an independent partition below, which is suitable for thinking about how to classify large amounts of clothing, food and other equipment.
The advantage of having extra space is that you don’t have to stuff everything in the same place, but it also makes it easier to add unnecessary items.

If it is just city walks and short-distance activities, a larger capacity may not be needed every day; if the weather changes greatly and you must add warmth and rain gear, you should first confirm the necessary equipment and then decide whether the bag is enough.
The capacity should follow the itinerary, rather than adding weight to the new bag.
Water-repellent, rain cover and waterproofing cannot be confused with the same thing
Some models have rain covers or fabrics with water-repellent treatment, but these do not mean that the entire backpack is completely waterproof under all rain conditions.
When purchasing, you need to look at the seams, openings and product labels.
Important items can also be arranged in appropriate inner bags to avoid mistaking different protection methods for the same specification.

Finally, compare the capacity, retrieval and carrying: first make sure it can hold the necessary items, then look at where to put the things you often take on the way, and finally try it on the back.
With the answers to these three questions, it will be easier for a backpack to fit into your autumn trip and daily life at the same time.
