At every Paris event, she would always show up in person to be by her side—this is the image Jisoo remembers most vividly of Mathilde Favier. Now that the Dior PR director has passed away so suddenly, this bond that transcended brand collaboration can only remain in memory.

Mathilde Favier, PR director of French luxury brand Dior, died on August 17 in a severe car accident in western France, along with her 61-year-old husband, film producer Nicolas Altmayer. Both were 57 and 61 respectively at the time of death. French media account Infos Françaises reported on social media that the couple collided head-on with a truck in Airvault, Deux-Sèvres. Nicolas Altmayer had worked on productions including the Taxi film series and OSS 117.

Following the news, BLACKPINK's Jisoo, who shared a mother-daughter-like bond with Favier, posted a tribute on social media, admitting she couldn't find the right words to say goodbye. She recalled that ever since she began working with Dior, Favier had always given her warmth and support, personally accompanying her at every Paris event so she could feel at home even while abroad. The two had celebrated birthdays together and even brought their families together, building countless shared memories along the way. Jisoo had been looking forward to seeing her again in Paris, but now can only hold onto those memories.

Jisoo described Favier as "someone beautiful inside and out," saying it was an incredible stroke of luck to have met her in this life. She extended her condolences to Favier's family and loved ones, promising to cherish everything they experienced together, and ended with: "I'll miss you so deeply, carrying our memories with me forever."

Dior has yet to release an official statement regarding the accident.
