evian's 200th Anniversary Asia Tour: Revisiting Dinners in Hong Kong, Taipei and Bangkok

evian marked its 200th anniversary in 2026 with themed dinners at The Mira Hong Kong, Four Points by Sheraton Linkou, and The Athenee Hotel Bangkok, alongside a limited edition bottle with artist Jeff Koons.

evian's 200th Anniversary Asia Tour: Revisiting Dinners in Hong Kong, Taipei and Bangkok

As the evian brand enters its 200th anniversary in 2026, three Asian cities held themed dining events throughout the first half of the year into autumn, taking place in Hong Kong, Taipei and Bangkok respectively. Each event took a different form, but all centred on the connection between the mineral water itself and local cuisine.

What did the Hong Kong and Taipei dinners each present?

In April 2026, a dedicated dinner was held at WHISK Dining Atelier at The Mira Hong Kong, with Chef Arnaud Dunand Sauthier of Maison Dunand in Bangkok as guest chef for two nights. The chef grew up in a small town just five kilometres from Evian-les-Bains in France, giving him a direct geographical connection to the brand's place of origin, and his upbringing lent a sense of local connection to this cross-city dining collaboration.

Two months later, in June 2026, another 200th anniversary celebration event was held at Four Points by Sheraton Taipei Linkou. A notable approach featured in the dinner was the actual use of evian natural mineral water as a base for cooking and mixology—for example, a Hong Kong-style braised Buddha Jumps Over the Wall used evian to make its broth, while a lemon and pink guava specialty drink was also made with evian as its base. This approach brought the brand's product directly into the preparation of dishes and drinks, rather than simply serving it as bottled water on the table.

What was different about the Bangkok event?

On 22 September 2026, a 200th anniversary celebration dinner was held at The Allium restaurant at The Athenee Hotel Bangkok, helmed by Chef Clément Hernandez. In addition to the host chef, Chef Nick Pavapaiboon of Wang Hinghoi and the aforementioned Arnaud Dunand Sauthier also attended as special guests.

The dinner also featured a music performance by DJ Balloondog, while bartender Gov Kitibordee presented a special cocktail inspired by evian, extending the brand's spirit beyond dining into a broader sensory experience.

The Jeff Koons commemorative bottle is a highlight of the series

Beyond the three dinners, evian collaborated with artist Jeff Koons for its 200th anniversary to launch a limited edition commemorative glass bottle series. The bottle design marks the brand's two-century milestone, and the commemorative bottle was also on display at the Bangkok dinner.

Overall, while the Hong Kong, Taipei and Bangkok events all belong to the same 200th anniversary series, each presented itself differently: Hong Kong emphasised the personal background connection of its guest chef, Taipei focused on the practical application of mineral water in cooking and drinks, and Bangkok combined a more diverse lineup of live performances and guests. All these events have already taken place; this article looks back at how each dinner used the same brand theme, rather than presenting a list of events still open for registration.
