Hoshino Resorts previews RISONARE Fukui for September 10, HOSHINOYA Asuka for July 22, KAI Ureshino for summer and BunkLodge NEKOMA for January 12, all in 2027.
Hoshino Resorts’ four recently announced properties offer different starting points for a 2027 trip to Japan: forest and geology in Fukui, hot springs in Saga’s Ureshino, gardens in Nara’s Asuka and group accommodation for Fukushima skiers. All remain future opening plans as of October 23, 2026, rather than places already accepting overnight guests. Opening dates, reservation launches and actual dates of stay need to be checked separately.
Fukui: a design hotel within a dinosaur forest
RISONARE Fukui is scheduled to open on September 10, 2027, in Katsuyama Dinosaur Forest in Katsuyama, within the same park setting as the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum. Its architecture takes inspiration from a pine cone resting on the ground, with Klein Dytham architecture involved in design and brand supervision. Land and geological layers inform its spatial language, rather than dinosaurs simply being applied as graphics to otherwise ordinary guestrooms.
The plan includes 100 guestrooms and a top-level panoramic pool and wellness area overlooking the mountains and Kuzuryu River. Reservations are expected to open in April 2027. Museum visits and accommodation could form the core of a family trip, but tickets, individual facility operations and actual routes still need separate confirmation. A location inside the park does not mean every experience is included in a room rate.
Ureshino and Asuka offer two ways to slow down
KAI Ureshino is expected to open in summer 2027 as Hoshino Resorts’ first property in Saga Prefecture. All 28 rooms are planned as maisonettes with open-air baths; the property also proposes a spa space called Bihada-goya. These are facility and concept previews. The hot spring’s reputation does not establish identical skin effects for every visitor. Travellers planning around bathing can watch for reservations expected to begin in spring 2027.

HOSHINOYA Asuka is scheduled for July 22, 2027, in the western part of Asuka Village, Nara Prefecture, with 35 rooms. Low tiled-roof buildings surround a garden expressing terraced-field scenery, placing the stay’s emphasis on terrain, stone and the pace of walking. Horizontal lines and open views in the published imagery contrast with Fukui’s elevated forest outlook. They invite comparison through the kind of trip desired, rather than brand hierarchy alone.
NEKOMA: accommodation as a skiing base
BunkLodge NEKOMA is scheduled to arrive on January 12, 2027, serving trips to Fukushima’s NEKOMA Mountain. Official descriptions emphasise bunk-bed rooms suited to friends travelling together, a 24-hour shop and a large communal bath, addressing group and longer-stay needs. Storage, daily schedules and party size are appropriate criteria here, rather than directly applying the standards of an inn with private open-air baths.
The four openings show how differently properties within one group can frame travel. Begin by deciding between skiing, a museum, bathing or gardens, then follow the relevant opening and reservation timetable. Check the Hoshino Resorts openings and renovations page for updates. Promotional images are planning illustrations, not photographs from a personal stay, and should not be treated as guarantees of the final rooms.
