The burger bun has been swapped out for two dark chocolate sandwich cookies — and what's stuffed between them isn't the usual cream filling, but a fried chicken fillet. This is KFC China's "Oreo Original Recipe Fried Chicken Burger," a collab with Oreo that takes the cookie out of dessert duty and puts it to work as structural sandwich bread instead.

According to KFC's official announcement, this limited-time item stars the brand's signature Original Recipe fried chicken fillet, sandwiched between Oreo cookies to create a new fast food mashup that's both sweet and savory. The concept itself is simple: take the familiar Oreo shape and use it straight-up as bread, letting the savory richness of the fried chicken clash with the cookie's sweetness in every bite.

The Oreo Original Recipe Fried Chicken Burger will be available for a limited time at KFC stores across China starting August 28, 2026, as part of a one-off collab campaign. There's no word yet on whether it'll expand to other markets.
