Kiko Kostadinov × Crocs VAALS launches October 20: leather, mesh and archival TPU details
Moc-toe stitching meets bungee laces, a rubber outsole and LiteRide footbed. Black, Kelp and Yellow Sand are announced, with Yellow Sand exclusive to Kiko Kostadinov.
VAALS, a collaboration between Kiko Kostadinov and Crocs, is scheduled to be released on October 20, 2026 through the brand website, flagship stores in London, Los Angeles and Tokyo, and designated channels around the world. The shoes first appeared in Kiko Kostadinov's Fall/Winter 2026 men's wear, using leather, mesh and side TPU straps to rearrange Crocs' familiar materials and archival clues.

Moc Toe and thick stitching give the toe a clear border
VAALS adopts Moc Toe structure and more eye-catching stitching, so that the front profile does not only rely on the openings of ordinary clogs. The leather retains its natural surface, while the mesh provides different densities in adjacent locations. When the two are juxtaposed, the shoe body, even if it has weight, is not just one piece of the same material.
When looking at the details, you can first compare the toe, lace area and sides to observe how the stitching is divided. This approach can better show where the designer puts the changes than just using the words "advanced" or "experimental" to summarize.
A TPU band connects Crocband and Genna archive references
The official description will be to customize the TPU band on the side to connect to Crocs’ Crocband and archival shoe model Genna. The archives were not moved back as a whole pair, but reappeared through partial structures, allowing the new shoes to retain the brand memory without maintaining the original appearance.

This also provides a way to understand co-branded shoes: first find which part comes from the cooperative brand, which part has been reshaped, and then see if the two form a continuous outline. Co-branding is not necessarily expressed only by the simultaneous appearance of the logos of both parties.
Drawstring, heel pull tab and LiteRide footbed
The shoe features adjustable drawstring laces, a heel pull tab, and a rubber outsole with Crocs LiteRide footbed. These configurations deal with fixation, putting on and taking off, and foot structure respectively. It cannot be assumed that every user has the same foot feel just because of a cushioning name.
If you want to use them as daily shoes, you can try them on with your usual socks first to confirm the space between the toe and heel, and then see if the cuffs of the pants can easily cover up with the shoelaces and side bands. The visual weight of the shoe shape and the actual fit still need to be compared separately.
Three colors, watch together with brand image shooting
Officially listed Black, Kelp and Yellow Sand, of which Yellow Sand is Kiko Kostadinov’s exclusive color. When the colors are different, the interface between leather, mesh and bands will be more obvious or concentrated. You can choose the contrast level you like first, and then return to clothing matching.

The image was shot by Jim Mangan in Colorado, including Red Rocks and Mushroom House, echoing the background of Crocs' location. The scenery and architecture give the shoes another layer of context, but the photos are still brand images and cannot be regarded as actual outdoor performance tests.

VAALS is worth seeing how the archives, leather toe box and Crocs footbed are put into the same silhouette. By looking at the local materials and structures, you can understand what has changed in this collaboration, and it is easier to judge whether it is suitable for your own shoe cabinet.
