"The Apothecary Diaries" Season 3 Premieres October 2! Lady Bai Makes Her Appearance, Yorushika Takes on the Theme Song

"The Apothecary Diaries" Season 3 is confirmed to premiere on October 2 — not exactly a shock, since the official team already teased a third season back-to-back with seasons one and two in 2023 and 2025. What's actually turning heads this time is just how much got dropped all at once: key visual, main PV, new character casting, opening theme, and even character designs for the year-end movie, all laid out together.

The most eye-catching scene in the trailer is the appearance of a mysterious fairy figure — "Lady Bai" — confirmed to be voiced by Reina Ueda. The trailer also hints that the country where Maomao and Jinshi reside may be under the shadow of famine. How these two threads will intertwine hasn't been revealed by the official team, leaving fans to piece it together when October rolls around.

The opening theme song has been handed to Yorushika, titled "Kumo wo Nuke Kazashimo e Watashi Dake." Original author Natsu Hyuuga's world has always been built on court mysteries and pharmacological deduction, and this soundtrack lineup continues the series' consistently tasteful choices — no further details were given beyond that.

The official team also dropped bonus news about the year-end release of "The Apothecary Diaries the Movie: The Deceased Empress's Secret Treasure," including character designs for three original movie characters — Muqing, Ruoqing, and Yinshan — along with updated visuals for all the series' main characters. This essentially unveils the visual info for both the anime's third season and the movie in one go. Compared to the wait between the previous two seasons, this drop feels like it's packed with genuine sincerity.
