A dress shoe silhouette in bubblegum pink sounds like a contradiction on paper, but that exact tension is what's putting the Air Max Dolce back on people's radar. Nike's latest release, dubbed "Light Magenta," coats the shoe's dress-shoe-inspired frame in a candy-pink hue — and the pairing works better than you'd expect.
The silhouette itself remains untouched. The Dolce keeps its signature tech-forward caged upper and heel Air unit, sticking to the same design vocabulary that's made it one of the more understated gems in Nike's running lineup. Only the color has changed; everything else about the build stays exactly as it was.
Credit for the Air Max Dolce's return to relevance goes to this spring's COMME des GARÇONS HOMME collaboration. That version stripped away the caged upper entirely, wrapping the whole shoe in patent leather to push its formal-wear vibe to the extreme — and in doing so, brought renewed attention to a silhouette that had largely flown under the radar. "Light Magenta" is one of two mainline colorways Nike currently has out, the other being a more luxe "Metallic Silver" option. Together, they pull the Dolce in two different directions: one sweet, one sleek.
