The Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC) usually plays by "one and done" rules — drop it, sell it out, move on. Air Max Phenomena broke that pattern.
This loafer-sneaker hybrid launched in summer 2025, pairing a leather loafer last with Nike's signature Air cushioning to smash dress shoes and sneakers together in one silhouette. A year later, instead of fading out like the rest of SWDC's lineup, it's kept getting restocked and dropped in new colorways, still holding shelf space heading into 2026.
The latest wave brings "Cacao Wow," a chocolate-brown finish that drenches the same leather loafer upper and chunky Air sole in deep tan tones — arguably the most tempting colorway of the bunch so far. Right behind it is a new "Metallic Silver" option, while the original black and "Burgundy Crush" colorways are also back on shelves, mainly through overseas Nike stores and retail partners.
Meanwhile, Nike's broader dress-shoe lineup hasn't been sitting still either, with reissued Air Max Dolce and leather-clad Shox joining the mix. But in terms of buzz and repeat sellouts, Phenomena is still the strongest performer in this category right now.
Not everyone's sold. Mixing formal uppers with sneaker soles is a divisive move by nature — for every fan there's someone raising an eyebrow. But Phenomena's edge is that it doesn't try too hard: the upper stays formal enough to pass in an office setting, and the colorway options hit that sweet spot for people who want a bit of style without going over the top.
Whether this becomes a permanent fixture in Nike's lineup remains to be seen — no official word yet. No release date or pricing info for Taiwan has been shared at this time.
