One Piece has been a fixture in the sneaker world for nearly a decade, yet somehow never linked up with Nike — until now, apparently, with rumors pointing to a collab dropping next year.

According to sneaker intel outlet Sneakerfiles, Nike is prepping a collab with One Piece centered on three Air Max Plus colorways, each drawing inspiration from a different Devil Fruit: the Gomu Gomu no Mi, Mera Mera no Mi, and Ope Ope no Mi. The report claims Team Swoosh is building each colorway's palette around the original visual identity of its respective fruit. As of now, no actual pairs or design renders have surfaced — it's all still text-only speculation.

Per Sneaker Freaker, the project won't stop at footwear — jerseys, tees, and caps are reportedly part of the lineup too, essentially turning it into a full-blown collection that builds out the One Piece universe rather than just dropping a single collab shoe.

Looking back, One Piece is actually one of the few anime IPs that's taken sneaker collabs seriously. Its first crossover came in 2017 with Converse's Chuck Taylor All Star; between 2019 and 2024, PUMA rolled out multiple collab pairs; and in 2022, it partnered with Vans on a full collection — reportedly the Sneaker Freaker editorial team's personal favorite. So Converse, PUMA, and Vans have all had their turn with One Piece — Nike's the missing piece of the puzzle. If the rumors check out, this would be the first official team-up between the two.

Right now this is all coming from industry leaks — neither Nike nor One Piece's official channels have said a word. Colorway details, release date, and pricing all remain unknown. Sneaker Freaker expects a launch sometime in the second half of next year, but until it's officially confirmed, treat this as a promising rumor and nothing more.
