Pingtung Wind Festival, October 23–25: music in Mudan and orienteering registration through October 22
The festival runs 14:00–21:00. October 24 orienteering is for ages 16+, capped at 200 people, at NT$500 solo or NT$900 per pair. Its meeting point differs from the main venue.
The 2026 Pingtung Wind Festival runs October 23–25 at Mudan Visitor Center, with published festival hours of 14:00–21:00. Music, market stalls and outdoor activities introduce a seasonal visit to the Hengchun Peninsula. Orienteering on October 24 requires separate registration and has its own schedule.

A seasonal reason to explore the peninsula
Compared with just choosing a scenic spot to take pictures, this type of activity puts the local climate, settlements and public spaces together. Travelers can arrange the main activities first and then decide whether to extend the surrounding itinerary, so that their stay has a clear center without having to cram in all the destinations on the peninsula at once.
The main venue is at the Mudan Visitor Center, and the traffic conditions are different from those of ordinary urban night markets. When preparing to go, you can first confirm your arrival method and return journey, and then decide which program you want to participate in. If your companions are not in the same pace, it is more practical to reserve a meeting time than to schedule a full schedule.
Orienteering is to use a map to determine your own path
The October 24 event focuses on map reading, finding checkpoints and route judgment, and the challenge time is 120 minutes. It shifts the focus from simply following the movement ahead to identifying locations, allocating time and deciding the next direction, making local space a part of the activity.

For people who are accustomed to mobile phone navigation, paper maps and checkpoints will bring different ways of viewing. Speed is only one part of the equation. Understanding the location and route first will also affect the experience. You should read the complete rules before participating, and do not interpret the name as a road run that generally follows a fixed route.
Ages 16+, 200 places and registration through October 22
The October 19 official announcement caps orienteering at 200 participants, aged 16 or older. Entry is NT$500 for an individual or NT$900 for a pair, with registration through October 22. Remaining places depend on the live registration page.
The meeting location is the Mudan Incident Memorial Park, which is different from the main venue, the Mudan Visitor Center. If you want to watch music or go to the market on the same day, you can first remember the meeting place, registration arrangements and activity rules before arranging the move, so as to avoid just entering the name of the main venue and setting off directly.
Music and market can also be used as an independent itinerary
The opening festival allows people who have not participated in orienteering to get close to the place through the stage and booths. The outdoor challenge has a different entrance from the main venue. Companions do not necessarily need to sign up for the same event. They can still return to the same place to meet at the agreed time.

If you want to extend your trip into the evening, you can first check the day's program and official transportation information before deciding how long to stay. The distance between the mountains and the sea is different from that in urban areas. If the moving time is not considered together, it is easy for the originally relaxing weekend to turn into a rush.
Before departure, check the arrangements with the latest announcements
Complete information can be viewedLuoshanfeng official event page, especially if there are any updates on registration, gathering and transportation, please follow the official follow-up instructions. The most important thing to remember this time is the three-day opening festival from October 23rd to 25th, and the additional registration for orienteering on October 24th.

Viewing an event as a way to understand a place allows you to see beyond the program how roads, settlements and seasons are connected. Mastering the time and location first, and then leaving a little blank space for the scene will make it easier to form your own peninsula travel rhythm.
