POTR × doublet Gives Its Bag Two Fronts, with an Omotesando Event Until October 26

POTR and doublet turn the question of a bag’s front into the design itself. Their first collaboration’s A-SIDE / A-SIDE BAG combines the appearances of a mini backpack and a Boston bag without prescribing which face points outwards. The collection launched on October 10, 2026, with the bag priced at ¥88,000 including Japanese tax. In Tokyo, a related Omotesando presentation continues until October 26.

How do two fronts change the way it is used?

Led by Masayuki Ino, doublet often finds humour in the displacement of everyday objects. This project borrows the idea of a double A-side single, allowing both sides to lead. The bag joins mini-backpack and Boston-bag structures, with original POTR monogram jacquard on the backpack face and turquoise lining inside. Turning it around therefore changes more than the position of a logo: different pockets and handles come into view.

A zipped pocket on the backpack face stores small items, while the Boston face has a snap pocket. When the backpack face points outwards, the Boston handles can be tucked into that snap pocket to tidy the outline. An adjustable, removable shoulder strap and a hand strap can be attached according to the chosen face. Although the styling borrows from a backpack, its carrying options should be understood through these straps; it should not simply be treated as a conventional two-shoulder backpack.

Black, pink and khaki create different contrasts

The bag comes in black, pink and khaki. The pink and khaki versions use zipper tape close to the body colour. Product photographs show how black makes the pockets and surface sheen more restrained, while pink turns the small silhouette into an outfit’s focal point. Consider the brightness and weight of your usual clothes: pink contrasts clearly with a dark coat, while black leaves more attention on the clothing’s cut.

The two-front idea also extends to two short-sleeved T-shirts and a long-sleeved top, priced in Japan at ¥27,500, ¥31,900 and ¥35,200 respectively. Hearts, smiley faces and lettering give both orientations a complete visual identity. The bag comes with an original co-branded drawstring pouch. Apparel and bags are not distributed identically, so a store stocking the bag will not necessarily carry every garment.

When does the Omotesando presentation end?

Doublet in the PORTER Gallery 1 runs from October 10–26 at PORTER OMOTESANDO, 5-6-8 Jingumae, Shibuya, Tokyo, with announced hours of noon–8 pm. It includes the collaboration and selected pieces from doublet’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection. As of October 25, it is in its final two days. Contact the store about a specific colour, size or item rather than assuming the event dates guarantee stock.

Japanese bag channels include designated PORTER and POTR stores, Yoshida & Co.'s website and selected doublet retailers. Apparel is concentrated at designated locations such as the Omotesando flagship and Dover Street Market Ginza. Check the official Yoshida & Co. website for current information. The useful comparison is how each face’s storage and strap arrangements fit everyday habits: the double A-side idea should work in use as well as in appearance.
