Inside Prada Galleria: the Milan passage, Pradasphere and invitation-only rooms
Prada’s historic Milan address combines retail, food, art and archives. Pradasphere requires booking; private salons and the Appartamento have different access conditions.
Prada Galleria transforms the brand’s 1913 starting point into multiple levels of shopping, food, art and history. Located in Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the project was previewed in June 2026 and detailed further in September. Korean October coverage should be read in that already-open context. Visitors first need to distinguish its different spaces: not every floor is freely accessible. This article draws on public brand information; the source feature was labelled as sponsored by Prada.

Passaggio Segreto connects two sides and different times
The women’s store retains the original Fratelli Prada site and expands underground, connecting to the diagonally opposite men’s store through a new passage. Passaggio Segreto presents lesser-known episodes in the brand’s history as well as providing circulation. Two separate shops can therefore become one continuous route.
From a design perspective, walking becomes a way of understanding: the city’s scale gives way to focused underground viewing, followed by products and interiors. Archives can enter everyday retail circulation rather than remaining in a separate exhibition building. Actual access still depends on on-site arrangements.
Pradasphere is permanent, with visits by reservation
Pradasphere draws on more than a century of archives and relationships with art, architecture, cinema, culture and sport beyond clothing. Official information calls it Prada’s first permanent exhibition and specifies booking. Earlier travelling versions in London, Hong Kong and Shanghai form its background; their display lists should not be treated as Milan’s permanent inventory.
Take one question into the archive: how does a silhouette, material or symbol reappear across periods? Recognition of a bag can become observation of a method. Old and new need not form a straight progression; repetition, redirection and recombination matter too.
Marchesi, Studio and Appartamento have different conditions
Marchesi 1824 above the men’s store offers a food stop, while Studio is intended for highly personalised shopping by appointment. Appartamento draws on an imagined eighteenth-century apartment, combining antique furniture with Andreas Gursky’s work. It is invitation-only for private dinners and selected occasions. Photographs show design, not a promise of unrestricted entry.

On the upper levels, Osservatorio Fondazione Prada addresses visual experimentation and contemporary cultural research; check its current exhibitions, hours and admission separately. Confirm Pradasphere booking through Prada, then allow separate time for shopping, coffee and art. The appeal lies in different functions sharing a historical address while maintaining their own thresholds and pace.
