September is being called one of the most packed months for new game releases in recent memory, so whether PS Plus can pull together a lineup substantial enough to keep subscribers around remains to be seen. For now, only the schedule is locked in: Essential tier's September games will be revealed on August 26, while Extra and Premium tier picks won't drop until September 9. As for availability, Essential titles go live September 1, with Extra and Premium subscribers having to wait until September 15 to play.

There's no official word on the lineup yet, but NME has floated three possible contenders based on market observations—these are purely speculation, not a confirmed list from Sony. First up is Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition, where players control colonial marine Zula Hendricks as she travels to the remote planet Purdan to investigate a distress signal, only to find herself fighting for survival at a Weyland-Yutani black site overrun by Xenomorphs. The story is set between Alien and Aliens, with synthetic companion Davis 01 along for the ride.
