Perpetual futures have long been a signature product on crypto exchanges, and now this tool is making its way onto Robinhood's US stock trading interface. According to The Block, Robinhood announced that its platform will soon offer perpetual futures trading, while also allowing US users to trade stocks on weekends — breaking away from the old restriction of only being able to place orders during weekday trading hours.
In the same update, Robinhood also rolled out a new feature called Robinhood Agents. This tool lets users build their own custom AI agents right within the app, rather than being limited to whatever analysis or customer service bots the platform provides by default.
Loosening restrictions on trading hours and product types, while at the same time handing the reins of AI tool-building back to users — the fact that both of these are landing in the same update shows Robinhood is looking to unlock two layers of constraint at once: "when you can trade" and "what tools you trade with." The materials at hand don't specify a launch timeline, scope of availability, or the exact specs of the perpetual futures product — details are still pending further announcements from the company.
