On the morning of Sunday, July 26, the on-site medical team began receiving reports of multiple attendees showing "similar symptoms." Organizers quickly identified third-party vendor Yorky Roast as the likely source and pulled the stall from the site.
But for some fans, 90 minutes was already too late. One person wrote online that it was "the worst food poisoning I've ever had in my life," while another said their "entire Sunday was completely wrecked," forcing them to miss the sets they'd planned to catch all along.
The Vale of White Horse District Council has confirmed it's now investigating, working alongside the festival's catering company, Truck Festival organizers, and the UK Health Security Agency to look into the "potential food poisoning incident." Organizers responded: "We understand and sympathize—this weekend has genuinely been disappointing for those affected."
This isn't the first time a festival has been burned by vendor food. In 2024, Download Festival saw an even larger outbreak, with up to 500 attendees reporting nausea, stomach cramps, and fever, ultimately leading to two stalls being shut down. By comparison, Truck Festival's response this time was relatively swift—but for fans who lost their entire Sunday lineup, speed probably wasn't much consolation.
This year's Truck Festival ran from July 23 to 26 at Hill Farm in Oxfordshire, drawing a record-breaking crowd of 27,500—the largest in the festival's history. The headline lineup included The Libertines, The Maccabees, CMAT, Two Door Cinema Club, and The Wombats, with Primal Scream, Kaiser Chiefs, and The Vaccines also on the bill.
