Looking Back at W Taipei's 'Sun Chasers': How Pool Music and Cross-City Dining Connected

W Taipei's 2026 summer 'Sun Chasers' campaign linked the 10th-floor WET® pool, poolside music, and cross-city guest dining, running until September 30. Here's a look back at how it was arranged.

Looking Back at W Taipei's 'Sun Chasers': How Pool Music and Cross-City Dining Connected

In summer 2026, W Taipei launched a themed campaign called "Sun Chasers," linking the 10th-floor WET® pool, poolside music performances, and dining experiences. The room packages were available from July 1 to September 30, and the campaign has now ended. The overall concept centered on the pool as the main setting, combining two threads of dining and music to present a summer-exclusive, multi-layered program.

The modern French restaurant Seasons by olivier e. introduced a "grill-your-own" concept at the time, offering 14 kinds of surf and turf ingredients for guests to freely combine, grilled over lychee wood — one of the main dining features throughout the season. This freestyle format put ingredient selection in diners' hands rather than relying on fixed set menus.

What Did the Cross-City Guest Chefs Bring?

Starting June 25, WOOBAR and WET® Bar invited two chefs from W Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as guest chefs: Chef Anas Luqman Hakim Bin Dzulkiffli from "FLOCK" restaurant, and Chef de Partie Kelvin Gan Kar Wai from "YEN" restaurant. Together they presented dishes in a Southeast Asian culinary style, bringing a cross-city flavor reference to Taipei's summer dining program.

Alongside the guest dishes, the dining team at the time also introduced three summer-limited cocktails: W Margarita, Scent Margarita, and Pandan Summer, which together with the Southeast Asian dishes made up the season's dining content.

How Was the Afternoon Tea and Music Program Arranged?

On June 25, WOOBAR launched the "W Tipsy Tea – Sunkissed" afternoon tea for two, priced at NT$2,588 per set plus 10% service charge, served daily from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., as one of the fixed dining offerings during the campaign period.

On the music side, a poolside music event was held on July 4, led by music director Chun Chun along with several DJs. The independent band MoonD'shake performed on the poolside stage that day from 5:00 to 5:45 p.m., followed by Victor G, also a music director from W Kuala Lumpur, who served as guest DJ from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., forming a seamless transition from live band to DJ performance.

The outdoor poolside area also collaborated with Taiwanese landscape brand "5PM®" to create a summer planting display, adding visual layers to the pool surroundings, which together with the dining and music content formed the overall scene design of the season's campaign.
