7-Eleven and Bam Bird Boutique bring convenience-store graphics to a 160-tile mahjong set

7-Eleven and Bam Bird Boutique have translated convenience-store colours, drinks and familiar symbols into a playable mahjong set. Sold through the US 7Collection store, the collaboration is currently listed at $315 and includes 160 tiles, a green velvet bag, two dice and a tile guide. It is a branded lifestyle product configured for American-style mahjong, rather than a Taiwan convenience-store points promotion. Coverage appeared on October 20; this should not be presented as a first release on October 25.

Familiar graphics with readable tile faces

Each tile measures 32 by 23 by 13 millimetres and uses three layers of acrylic with hand-painted designs. Official descriptions bring products, logos and nostalgic references into the artwork while preserving distinctions between suits and numbers. In the photographs, drink cups, flowers and bamboo-like lines each have their place. The brand references therefore operate within the game’s existing classification, rather than placing the same logo indiscriminately on every tile.

The backs establish consistency with 7-Eleven’s orange, green and red stripes and a gold-etched logo. Face-down or arranged in a wall, the tiles still read as one collection; face-up, illustrated and numbered tiles carry different information. Balancing recognition and readability is particularly important in a game requiring quick identification. Attractive graphics do not change its rules, and collectability should be considered separately from an individual’s regular playing habits.

Why 160 tiles need a rules check

The set contains 36 bams, 36 craks and 36 dots, plus eight flowers, 16 winds, 12 dragons, ten jokers and six blanks, totalling 160 tiles. Official instructions say to remove two jokers and six blanks for National Mah Jongg League play, leaving 152. This is an American-style configuration; it does not mean the set can be used without adjustment for familiar Taiwanese play. Agree on rules and the necessary tiles before starting.

Accessories extend the same visual identity. The green velvet bag measures 14 by 8 inches, with branding outside and additional details in its lining. One side of the double-sided guide identifies the custom artwork, while the other offers game reminders, helping players connect new graphics with tile meanings. The stated package includes the bag and two dice. Other tabletop accessories should not be assumed to come with it simply because they appear in a styled photograph.

Price, sales channel and delivery

The $315 figure is the current US-dollar price displayed by 7Collection, not a Taiwan-dollar quotation or the full cost after import. As a collaboration sold through the official merchandise channel, it should not be assumed to appear simultaneously in 7-Eleven stores in Taiwan, Japan or other markets. Delivery coverage, freight, tax and stock depend on the destination and checkout information. A working purchase button does not establish shipping eligibility everywhere.

Check 7Collection’s full set description before deciding whether the main use will be collecting, occasional gatherings or regular play. For people familiar with the store’s visual language, its appeal lies in turning signs and product memories into a game vocabulary. Suitability for a particular table still involves readability, tile size, handling and rules, rather than colour alone.
