A sneaker originally made exclusively for women, only to come back in a retro that couldn't fit women at all — that's the awkward history behind the Air Jordan 4 Retro "Linen." First released in 2006 as a true women's-exclusive colorway, it returned in 2017 but only in grade-school sizing, effectively locking out the very audience it was designed for.
According to @zsneakerheadz and Sneaker Files, Jordan Brand is finally set to right that wrong in June 2027. This time around, "Linen" is reportedly coming back in proper women's sizing that stays true to the 2006 original — marking only the second time in nearly two decades that this colorway has actually been available in women's sizes.
The colorway sticks to the original White/Boarder Blue/Light Sand scheme: white leather base, Light Sand khaki tones accenting the more technical elements, and Boarder Blue showing up subtly on the tongue, heel, and outsole branding. It's a laid-back, summer-ready palette without any loud color-blocking, which is likely part of why this pair has never gotten much hype in the first place.
Another key change lies in the last. This version of "Linen" is expected to use the updated silhouette first seen on the limited 2023 Air Jordan 4 SB "Pine Green" and later on the wider-released 2024 Air Jordan 4 Retro "Bred Reimagined" — a shape that more closely echoes the proportions of the original 1989 Air Jordan 4, and one many sneakerheads consider the more "accurate" take in recent years.
Whether extended sizing will be offered remains unconfirmed. What's known so far: the shoe is expected to release on June 5 with a retail price of $220, dropping via the Nike SNKRS app and select Jordan Brand retailers under style code HV0823-142.
