Isetan Shinjuku's sneaker market opens November 4, with BePositive ending earlier on the 17th
World Sneaker Market brings five approaches to autumn dressing to the Men's Building basement. BePositive's accompanying pop-up contrasts layered laser-cut leather with leopard-patterned SPACE RACE sneakers.
Choosing autumn sneakers can start with the silhouette missing from your wardrobe rather than a brand name. Isetan Shinjuku will host World Sneaker Market in the men's shoe department on basement level 1 of its Men's Building from November 4 to 24, 2026, grouping autumn choices into five approaches to dressing. An accompanying pop-up by Italian label BePositive runs only until November 17: anyone interested in SPACE RACE should keep the two closing dates separate. The official page was updated October 28; the event is still upcoming.
Five approaches, from neat commuting looks to sporting silhouettes
The five categories are high-end, dress, classy, creative sports and comfort sneakers, rather than a popularity top five. The lineup moves from shoemaking names such as J.M. WESTON, Church's and JOHN LOBB to Salomon, ASICS SportStyle, On and New Balance, alongside COLE HAAN, ECCO and others. Instead of pursuing a single sole thickness, the presentation connects shoe choices with the different demands of tailored jackets, casual trousers and outdoor-influenced clothing.
In the official creative-sports photograph, A is Salomon at ¥24,200 including tax; B is ASICS SportStyle at ¥20,900; C is On at ¥25,300; and D is New Balance at ¥39,600. Alongside black shoes and silver-grey lines, On's olive upper and bright laces offer a different colour focal point. These prices apply to the specific pictured products, rather than starting prices across each brand. The page does not supply their full model names, so appearance alone should not become an invented model identification or performance guarantee.
BePositive makes layered leather the focal point
BePositive's first pop-up in Isetan's Men's Building centres on SPACE RACE from its autumn/winter 2026 collection. The black Space Race Laser Cut 2.0 Nero is ¥132,000 including tax. Product images show multiple narrow, overlapping pieces across the upper, creating pronounced light and shade despite the near-monochrome colour. The official description attributes this three-dimensional effect to laser-cut leather and compares it to overlapping feathers. That describes construction and appearance; it does not mean the upper contains actual feathers.

The Space Race Leopard Grigio, at ¥110,000 including tax, combines leopard-patterned suede with smooth leather. In the photograph, brown laces, a black toe overlay and a lighter midsole concentrate the pattern on the body of the shoe instead of covering everything with the same texture. The contrast between the two pairs involves layered strips versus flatter panels as well as black versus leopard pattern. Consider how much upper your trouser hem will reveal, then decide whether pattern or surface construction should lead the outfit.

Check the shorter pop-up before planning a Shinjuku visit
For a wardrobe built around plain trousers, knitwear and simple jackets, a striking upper can create a concentrated accent; when clothing already carries several patterns, a quieter shoe colour can help keep the silhouette legible. These are styling observations based on product photographs, rather than a report of trying the shoes. The brand says SPACE RACE changes materials, colours and finishes each season, making close inspection of the leather worthwhile. Last shape, weight and feel still require checking in person; price alone cannot establish comfort.
The venue is the men's shoe department on B1 of Isetan Shinjuku's Men's Building, 3-14-1 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo. The store lists regular hours of 10am to 8pm, in local Japanese time. World Sneaker Market runs November 4–24, while BePositive runs November 4–17. All prices quoted here are official Japanese yen prices including tax, not Taiwan retail prices. Product details and availability may change; check the desired items and that day's hours with the store before travelling, so the main event's later closing date does not cause you to miss the brand pop-up.
