ASICS is taking the opposite approach with its new GEL-NYC 2 "Clay Grey," a release that relies not on volume but on restraint done right.
The design draws from ASICS' own deep running shoe archive, blending early-2000s proportions with a modern last. Mesh lining paired with layered suede panels creates a nostalgic feel without tipping into straight retro reissue territory.
The colorway is what ties it all together. The grey-dominant Clay Grey palette leans into earthier, more muted grey tones, softening what would otherwise be a bulky silhouette.
