BEAMS MANGART recuts Cowboy Bebop into wearable collages for an October 30 release
Tetsuya Nagato rearranges characters and scenes across eight product forms marking the film's 25th anniversary. Japanese sales run to November 10 through two specified channels; skateboard decks are made to order.
An anime collaboration can rearrange how a story is seen, as well as print its characters on clothing. BEAMS MANGART's first collaboration with Cowboy Bebop launches October 30, 2026, at BEAMS CULTUART Takanawa and the official BEAMS online shop, with the sales period listed through November 10. Marking 25 years since the 2001 film Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door, the collection brings in art director Tetsuya Nagato to assemble characters, scenes and motifs into new images. An everyday garment becomes something like a densely packed visual index.
Black and white backgrounds change how an anime memory is read
The official October 23 announcement connects the collaboration with the film's 4K remaster release. This report concerns merchandise going on sale October 30, rather than presenting the original announcement as new today. Nagato reorganises several fragments into one artwork instead of relying on a single character portrait. In the photographs, blocks of colour, faces and small lines intersect: viewers familiar with the anime can recognise memories in the details, while newcomers first encounter a vertical composition and its rhythm.
Two short-sleeved T-shirt designs, numbered 1 and 2, are each ¥7,700 including tax, in white and black and sizes M, L and XL. The selected image of design 1 places a coloured collage centrally on the chest. White lets the surrounding blank space flow into the garment, whereas black defines the rectangular image more clearly. Each background changes the relationship between artwork and fabric; neither needs to be treated as more authentic. Wearing an outer layer open can also preserve the composition's overall proportions.
The hoodie moves the emphasis to the back; accessories change the scale
The long-sleeved T-shirt is ¥9,900 including tax, listed in white and M, L and XL. Hoodie 1 is black and hoodie 2 white, each ¥16,500 including tax in the same three sizes. Official images of the black hoodie show a small logo at one side of the chest, with a large collage unfolding across the back. A restrained front gives way to greater visual density when the wearer turns. This describes visible design, not a test of fabric thickness, warmth or wash durability. The announcement lacks full material details and garment measurements, which should be checked on the product page before selecting a size.

Accessories comprise a bandana at ¥5,500 including tax, a throw at ¥16,500 and a skateboard deck at ¥22,000. The deck image places a colour close-up of a character beside a monochrome collage of scenes. A long, narrow surface gives faces and dense storytelling different rhythms; the reverse uses simpler title lettering. How a deck should be used still depends on its actual specifications. Neither the photograph nor the announcement guarantees trucks, wheels or a complete ready-to-ride setup.

Check the two sales channels and the made-to-order distinction
The collection translates the same animated imagery across short sleeves, long sleeves, hoodies and home accessories. Start by deciding where the collage should sit: a chest print reads from the front, a large back print makes turning around a new image, and a deck changes the artwork's vertical scale. Choosing the object you will actually use can bring anniversary merchandise into daily life without collecting everything. Eight product forms does not mean only eight colours, nor that every item follows the same production system.
The Japanese announcement specifies sales from October 30 to November 10 at BEAMS CULTUART Takanawa and the official online shop. Skateboard decks are made to order, so an accepted order should not be mistaken for same-day collection. Check other items' stock and sizes with the sales channel, rather than assuming simultaneous availability in all BEAMS stores worldwide. All prices here are official Japanese yen prices including tax, not Taiwan retail prices. The appeal lies in how images are re-edited, while a useful purchase also requires separating stock information, order conditions and the item you really intend to use.
