Blondie's New Album 'High Noon' to Feature Late Drummer Clem Burke's Drumming, Out Next February

Blondie's new album "High Noon" will drop on February 26, 2027, nearly a decade after "Pollinator." It features drumming recorded by the late Clem Burke before his passing, with guest contributions from Johnny Marr and Glen Matlock.

The drums on "Spectral Eyes" were played by someone no longer with us. Blondie used a performance recorded by co-founder Clem Burke before he passed away in 2025 at age 70 — and that recording ended up on the band's first new album in years, "High Noon."

Blondie announced that "High Noon" will be released on February 26, 2027, marking the American new wave icons' first studio album since 2017's "Pollinator." Founding members Debbie Harry and Chris Stein have confirmed that, alongside Burke's drumming, the album also features contributions from The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, and Beirut frontman Zach Condon.

The lead single "Spectral Eyes" essentially sums up that lineup in miniature: Marr on guitar and backing vocals, Burke on drums, and Matlock on bass. The track has been described as a tribute to the pop-rock sound of the late 1970s through early '80s, with bright, arpeggiated guitar lines layered under Harry's signature cool, nasal vocals.

In the press release, Harry described the album this way: "This album is classic Blondie — a mix of our different influences and eras coming together as something new. The music feels rooted in the present, shaped by who we are and how we live now."

"High Noon" has been in the works since 2022, taking over four years to complete. It was produced by Grammy-winning producer John Congleton, who also worked on "Pollinator" and has previously collaborated with Erykah Badu and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. As for the album, Stein offered just one blunt reflection in the press release: "It's been a long, weird journey, and somehow we ended up with another Blondie album. I don't really know what bullshit to say at this point, except that we're truly grateful for your support all these years."

Blondie made the announcement on their official Instagram:A post shared by @blondieofficial. "High Noon" is slated for release on February 26, 2027, and the single "Spectral Eyes" is now available on streaming platforms.
