Freed from Racing Rules, Cadillac V-One Uses 830 Horsepower to Crash Europe's Track-Only Supercar Club

Cadillac unveiled the single-seat V-One concept at Monterey Car Week, built on the same Dallara carbon-fiber chassis as its V-Series.R race car. With racing regulations stripped away, output jumps to 830 horsepower, and the brand is evaluating a limited production run for private collectors.

Freed from Racing Rules, Cadillac V-One Uses 830 Horsepower to Crash Europe's Track-Only Supercar Club

Same chassis, same engine—how much extra horsepower can you unlock once racing rules no longer apply? Cadillac's answer with the V-One: 830 horsepower, a full 160 more than the race-spec version.

This single-seat concept made its debut at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, standing out as one of the more unconventional reveals during Monterey Car Week. It borrows directly from Cadillac's championship-winning endurance racer, the V-Series.R, sharing its Dallara carbon-fiber monocoque and pushrod suspension—essentially taking an existing race car skeleton and retuning it from scratch. The 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 hybrid powertrain, capped at 670 horsepower under LMDh regulations, is completely unleashed in the V-One, with output surging to 830 horsepower. Cadillac's goal is to keep lap times within roughly 10% of professional driver benchmarks, while tuning the dynamics to remain approachable for non-professional drivers.

The most eye-catching visual detail is a hand-sprayed gradient paint job that transitions from silver at the nose to deep navy blue at the tail, meant to evoke the passage from day into night during a 24-hour endurance race. Up front, the spot where racing decals would normally go is replaced with an illuminated, physical Cadillac emblem. The body also features newly designed V-Series wheels alongside a reworked dark badge layout.

The cabin retains the race car prototype's exposed carbon-fiber texture, but adds a number of touches geared toward private collectors: recycled fiber material sourced from the Cadillac Collection, a serialized nameplate marking exclusivity, and seats tailored to each customer's body shape. The engineering team also developed an intuitive custom user interface and steering wheel button layout, delivering clear telemetry data, visual feedback, and coaching guidance to keep the massive hybrid power output manageable on track.

Officially, Cadillac is currently positioning the V-One as a concept study, but the brand has publicly acknowledged it's evaluating the possibility of limited customer production. If it does move forward, this would mark Cadillac's first entry into the low-volume track car segment long dominated by Ferrari, Aston Martin, and McLaren. Since chassis manufacturing is already handled in partnership with Dallara, the production infrastructure needed essentially already exists—which is why this reveal is being viewed by many as a genuine test of the waters rather than just a concept showcase.

No details on pricing, production numbers, or delivery timeline have been announced yet.
