A leaked map on the PBE test server gave away the answer early: Tristana. This champion will receive the commemorative skin for the third inductee into the League of Legends Hall of Legends, and the player's identity had already been revealed in Riot Games' official announcement — Caps (Rasmus Winther) from the European region.

League of Legends officially established its esports Hall of Fame, the "Hall of Legends," in 2024, inducting just one player each year who has made a major impact on the professional scene. The inaugural inductee was the widely recognized GOAT, Faker Lee Sang-hyeok, followed by LPL legend ADC Uzi Jian Zihao. Now the third inductee has been officially revealed: the 26-year-old Caps is not only the third member of this select group, but also the first Western pro player ever to receive the honor, breaking the pattern of the first two slots going to LCK and LPL representatives.

The most defining year of Caps' career came in 2019, when he led G2 Esports to victory at the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and went on to reach the World Championship finals that same year. Officials described him as someone who fuses top-tier mechanics, creativity, and personal flair, consistently creating opportunities through unexpected champion picks and in-game decision-making. Chris Greeley, Global Head of League of Legends Esports, said in a statement: "You can never be fully prepared for Caps. He has that rare star quality — the ability to create opportunities, the leadership, and the composure under pressure that lets him rise to the occasion at the most critical moments."

The official Hall of Legends trophy presentation ceremony is scheduled for August 18 in Berlin, Germany. Player-facing commemorative content will roll out starting September 10 (Taiwan time), including an event pass looking back at Caps' professional career and exclusive skin content themed around him — the Tristana skin has been confirmed so far, with details on other champions and bundles yet to be announced. That same night at 11 PM, Riot will also release Caps' full documentary on the official League of Legends YouTube channel.

According to official information, the Hall of Legends selection process inducts only one player per year: Riot's core staff in each region first nominate around 20 tier-one pro players with at least five years of competitive experience, and an independent panel of 50 esports industry veterans from regions worldwide then votes on the finalists. Selection criteria cover international tournament performance, championship titles, position-specific statistics, and overall contributions to esports development. In addition to receiving the official trophy, inductees and their teams also share in a portion of the sales revenue from the event pass and bundles.
