CASBA Comes to Taipei: Six Collaborations and 30 Years of Creative Connections
The Tokyo bar’s clothing project arrives at N(9)uf Zhongshan on October 23–25 with collaborations from UNDERCOVER, NEIGHBORHOOD and more. Here is what to look for, and when to catch Reiko Masuda’s DJ set.

What does a Tokyo bar bring to Taipei after 30 years in business? In CASBA’s case, clothing. CORNER SHOP by CASBA will hold a pop-up at N(9)uf Zhongshan on Chifeng Street from October 23 to 25, presenting pieces made with six Japanese labels. CASBA’s proprietor, Reiko Masuda, is also coming to Taiwan, with a one-hour DJ set scheduled for opening night.
UNDERCOVER, HYSTERIC GLAMOUR, WACKO MARIA, NEIGHBORHOOD, WHITE MOUNTAINEERING and BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS make an appealing lineup for anyone who follows Japanese streetwear. The useful context, however, is how those labels came to share a connection with one place and one person.
From an Ebisu bar to a Harajuku clothing shop
According to the organizers, Masuda opened CASBA in Tokyo’s Ebisu district in 1996, making 2026 its 30th anniversary. The members-only bar eventually removed its exterior sign; a handwritten “Members Only” sign remained inside. Its history intersects with fashion, but the relationship between people and place offers a more revealing way into this pop-up than a roll call of famous guests.
CASBA launched its namesake clothing label and opened CORNER SHOP by CASBA in Harajuku in 2024. That move gave relationships formed around the bar a wearable expression. It also created a way for people who have never visited the Ebisu venue to encounter its cultural background through graphics and collaborative design.

Six labels, with different chapters in the story
Six collaboration partners are listed for the Taipei event, but the entire lineup should not be read as six brand-new collaborations debuting there. The press materials date the initial partnerships with UNDERCOVER, HYSTERIC GLAMOUR and WACKO MARIA to 2024. UNDERCOVER’s Jun Takahashi is described as a longtime friend of Masuda, while HYSTERIC GLAMOUR’s Nobuhiko Kitamura is a longstanding CASBA member.
WHITE MOUNTAINEERING and BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS followed in 2025. For the 2026 anniversary, CASBA returned to UNDERCOVER and HYSTERIC GLAMOUR and worked with NEIGHBORHOOD for the first time. Seen through that timeline, the pop-up brings together several ongoing relationships rather than a single collection organized around an anniversary logo.

Read the graphics before choosing the label
The organizers’ account of the August 2025 releases highlights two different approaches. WHITE MOUNTAINEERING adapted a retro collegiate-logo T-shirt design with CASBA branding and a character. BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS, with founder Masafumi Watanabe involved, used the language of band tour merchandise to connect the image of a girl band with Masuda.
Both work through a T-shirt, but invite different readings. One places new symbols within familiar collegiate lettering; the other builds a portrait through music-merchandise storytelling. For visitors, that suggests a useful way to browse: decide whether the lettering, character or narrative draws you in, then consider the collaborating label.
These are design references from earlier collaborations, not a promise that every past style will be available in Taipei. The announcement identifies the participating labels but does not provide a complete local list of products, sizes or prices. Check with the shop before visiting if you have a particular piece in mind.
A one-hour DJ set on October 23
The pop-up runs from 13:00 to 21:30 on all three days at N(9)uf Zhongshan, 1F, No. 17, Lane 17, Chifeng Street, Taipei. Masuda’s DJ set is scheduled for October 23 from 19:00 to 20:00. Plan around that specific hour if hearing her play is the main reason for your visit; the announcement does not list sets on the other two days.
The event artwork’s “MEMBERS ONLY” wording also needs context. The organizers explicitly describe it as a tribute to the sign inside CASBA. It should not be treated as an announcement of members-only admission to the Taipei pop-up. Refer to the venue’s latest information for other entry arrangements.

An anniversary worth looking beyond the logo for
The compelling thread here is how a bar translates longstanding personal connections into clothing. Once you have scanned the brand lineup, look at the visual language each collaborator chooses. That is a more interesting introduction to CASBA than its celebrity associations alone, and the three-day Taipei event offers a chance to consider the backstory alongside the pieces themselves.
