A $95 million government contract pits two of the largest blockchain intelligence companies in the United States against each other. According to The Block, Chainalysis has filed a lawsuit in federal court, accusing the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of not going through a fair bidding process when allocating this blockchain analysis contract, but directly directing the case to its peer TRM Labs.
The complaint's demands are very specific: asking the court to order a suspension of the $95 million TRM contract and requiring ICE to restart a complete and open bidding process. In other words, what Chainalysis wants is not compensation, but to put this business in the sun again to compete.
