Daisy Edgar-Jones in denim: short trenches, vintage blouses and corset tops

The three combinations in the New York promotional trip use coat length, neckline and waist structure to establish focus. The same denim direction can also have different levels of formality.

Daisy Edgar-Jones in denim: short trenches, vintage blouses and corset tops

During her promotional trip in New York, Daisy Edgar-Jones paired denim with short trench coats, vintage shirts and vest tops. The three directions arranged by stylist Dani Michelle allow jeans to meet clothing with age clues. What is worth observing is not buying the entire set of the same style, but how the coat, collar and waist change the familiar expression of the lower body.

Short windbreaker and 501, first compare the length and waistband

One of the sets is a Burberry short trench coat paired with Levi’s 501. The collar of the jacket has lotus leaf details and the surface is slightly shiny. The relatively short body makes the denim waist and leg lines easier to see, and the black stilettos form a more concentrated silhouette under the trousers.

The change in this combination comes from the junction of the upper and lower body: It is also a windbreaker. The long version will cover more denim, while the short version will allow the lower body to retain a more complete area. When borrowing for daily use, you can first compare the length of the jacket with your existing jeans before deciding whether you need a belt, tie or other accessories.

Nude vintage shirt brings the details of the era closer

Another set uses a John Galliano 2006 spring vintage shirt, paired with micro-flared denim and gold satin open-toe shoes. The soft surface and neckline details of the top are different from the everyday feel of denim; the Boucheron antique necklace is added to the accessories to focus the focus on the neck.

The value of vintage clothing lies not only in its vintage, but also in how its style and details can be put back into contemporary combinations. If the top already contains ruffles, patterns or a more complicated neckline, you can keep the coat and bag simple first to see if these clues are still clear before deciding how many accessories to add.

The corset top and peplum hem change the proportion of denim

The third outfit is a nude corset-style top worn with jeans. The top has flowers, lace and a hem that flares out at the waist. The shoes are low-heeled beige style. Compared with the previous two sets, this set moves the structural focus towards the waist, allowing for a clearer outline change between the upper body and lower body.

When choosing a similar top, it is worth confirming the space for sitting and raising hands, as well as where the hem falls on the waistband of the pants. The proportions in the photos serve the shooting and itinerary. Actual wear also needs to match your body shape, temperature, and activities. You don’t have to regard the degree of waist tightening as the only criterion.

Three directions, not exactly the same jeans three times

This set of public images shows three ways of matching denim. It cannot be inferred that the same pair of pants is worn every time. Straight legs, micro-flares, and different pants lengths will change the exposed area of the shoe upper, and also affect the upper body to look taller or more relaxed.

For a reusable approach, start with your jeans and pair them in turn with a short jacket, detailed shirt, and top with a structured waist. When comparing, bring the shoes into view, and it will be easier to know whether the change comes from the length, material, or the relationship between the trousers cuff and the instep.

What the three sets of looks jointly demonstrate is that denim can take on different eras and levels of formality. A short windbreaker provides an outer silhouette, a vintage shirt brings details to the neckline, and a corset top emphasizes the waist. Keeping one of the directions allows new ways to use familiar jeans.
