They said they'd take 2027 off — but Iron Maiden is rolling the tour bus back into North America anyway. The band has announced 16 additional shows for 2027, serving as the final stretch of their 50th anniversary "Run For Your Lives" tour. That means this massive trek, which kicked off in May 2025 and has since circled nearly half the globe, is finally set to wrap up on home turf in the US and Canada.

Bassist Steve Harris explained the last-minute change of plans in a statement: "We originally planned to take 2027 off, but we had so much fun on this last run through the US and Canada that after talking it over, we decided to bring the show to places we'd missed before, especially the Northwest and Southeast. Fans in those areas have given us incredible support over the years, and it's only fair to do this for them." He added: "We can't make it everywhere, but we can sure try! And we've always loved playing the big European festivals, so we wanted to experience a few more of those in the US too — which is why we're ending the tour in Columbus and Maryland."

The new round of shows kicks off on April 14 at the Tacoma Dome in Washington State, followed by stops in Vancouver, Portland, Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta and more. The tour will close out with a headlining slot at the Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, Ohio on May 14, and a final appearance at the Boardwalk Rock festival in Ocean City, Maryland on May 16. British bands Bullet For My Valentine and The Raven Age will provide support on select dates.

Manager Rod Smallwood credited the added dates to the overwhelming response from the 2026 tour, calling it one of the biggest crowds the band has ever drawn in North America: "The response was so good we had to come back and hit the places we missed — and bring Eddie's Dive Bars along for the ride while we're at it!"

As for tickets, fan club presale began this past Monday (October 19) at 10am local time, with general on-sale opening this Friday (October 23) at 10am. Additional presale windows will be rolled out in the meantime.

Since launching in May 2025, the "Run For Your Lives" tour has drawn its entire setlist from the band's first nine studio albums — from their self-titled 1980 debut through 1992's "Fear Of The Dark." The tour also marks drummer Simon Dawson's first time on the road with the band, stepping in for Nicko McBrain, who announced his departure from touring in December 2024. This past July, the band also held EddFest, a massive 50th anniversary event at Knebworth featuring The Darkness, The Hu, Airbourne and The Almighty.

In other news, Iron Maiden is set to be officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next month, though the band has confirmed they will not attend the ceremony. Earlier this year, they also sold a 50% stake in their music and image rights to Pophouse Entertainment, the Swedish company behind ABBA's virtual concert experience "Voyage."
