PLOT, a brand storytelling and art space in Taipei's Da'an District, will welcome a gentle narrative about memory, encounters, and youth in August 2026. Curated personally by legendary Japanese trend and art curator Yasumasa Yonehara, this exhibition features rising Japanese artist might 's first overseas solo exhibition, "I'm here|我在這裡", officially on view at PLOT from August 22 to September 3.
This exhibition is being held specially at PLOT, founded by a close friend of Yasumasa Yonehara. Through might's depictions of girls who haven't yet lost their trust in the world, and emotional landscapes suspended between youth, solitude, and nostalgia, viewers are invited to look again at those precious moments that once briefly crossed paths with their lives, yet remain forever preserved in memory.
Curator Yasumasa Yonehara: Depicting Youth and Trust Is Also an Important Form of Artistic Expression
Speaking about curating this exhibition, Yasumasa Yonehara said:
"I'm truly delighted to be able to hold might's first overseas solo exhibition, 'I'm here|我在這裡', at PLOT in Taipei—the store of a very important friend of mine.
Today's art world tends to focus heavily on social critique and the darker sides of human nature, but I've always believed that depicting 'the dazzling brilliance of youth' and 'the pure feeling of trusting someone' is an equally important form of expression.
In might's work, there exists a group of girls who haven't yet lost their trust in the world. Their smiles portray the joy of meeting someone, and the preciousness of that fleeting moment when lives intersect.
The exhibition title 'I'm here' represents the 'here I am' of this very moment, and also serves as a declaration about memory: 'That day, the me who once met you, is still here now.' Even if the encounter was brief, those faint glimmers of light remain in the heart and never fade away.
Whenever I encounter Taiwanese films and culture, I always sense the deep appreciation here for the 'warmth of memory.' I believe might's work can quietly find its way into everyone's heart. If this exhibition can allow visitors to PLOT to encounter their own 'that day' once again, nothing would make me happier."
An Artrator Bridging Illustration and Contemporary Art
Depicting the Indescribable Emotions of Youth Through Lyrical Brushstrokes
Calling herself an "Artrator," might is known for her soft, delicate colors, dynamic use of negative space, and refined brushwork. The figures and scenes she depicts often exude a distinctive atmosphere woven from youth, solitude, and nostalgia, transforming the ambiguous emotions that are hard to put into words into a visual language imbued with warmth.
Active on social media, might also has deep ties to music culture. She created the visuals and music video for popular Japanese singer Wanuka's (和ぬか) hit single "寄り酔い," using lyrical, dreamlike imagery that echoed the song's world and drew widespread attention among younger audiences.
Moving freely between commercial illustration and fine art, might continues to expand the boundaries of her creative practice. Bringing her work overseas for the first time, and choosing to hold her solo exhibition in Taipei—a city she deeply loves—she expressed her excitement, saying:
"I'm truly happy to be able to share my paintings with everyone. I hope this exhibition allows me to meet everyone in Taipei."
"I'm here|我在這裡" is not merely a declaration of existence—it's also a letter written to memory and encounter. The exhibition invites every viewer to step into might's artistic world, and amid the smiles of young girls, the faint glimmers of youth, and delicate emotion, rediscover that never-vanished self within their own lives.
