The shell-shaped madeleine is an everyday treat beloved by the French. Specialist shop MADÉ has set up on Lyndhurst Terrace in Central, bringing that homey flavor to Hong Kong. Among its six flavors are two clearly localized picks: egg tart and black sesame.
MADÉ uses French butter and flour, making its madeleines in small batches to ensure everything is freshly baked. The current lineup of six flavors includes original, chocolate, matcha white chocolate, black sesame, egg tart, and lemon. The shop says it plans to roll out monthly, seasonal, and festive limited editions in the future.
As for pricing, a box of three costs HK$98, a box of six is HK$180, and a box of twelve comes in at HK$338, with a minimum purchase of three pieces. During the soft opening, there's an extra deal: buy three get one free, buy six get two free, and buy twelve get three free.
MADÉ is located at the ground floor shop, 54 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central. For inquiries, contact via WhatsApp at 9700 4911. No official grand opening date has been announced yet.
