Maison Margiela brings its autumn/winter setting to two Tokyo pop-ups

Tapestry patterns, carpets and patchwork furniture connect the collection with its retail setting. Ginza runs through October 25; Roppongi ends October 23.

Maison Margiela brings its autumn/winter setting to two Tokyo pop-ups

Maison Margiela has set up two pop-ups in Tokyo for the 2026 autumn and winter series, located at Dover Street Market Ginza and ESTNATION Roppongi Hills. The Ginza exhibition will last until October 25th, and the Roppongi exhibition will last until October 23rd. Both venues draw materials from the autumn and winter shows, but they are not a single exhibition that can be viewed with one ticket or the same address.

Tapestries and carpets, how to continue the show story?

This space recreates the atmosphere of the series in the container environment of the Shanghai shipyard. It uses tapestry pattern wallpaper and carpets to unify the vision, and puts in furniture with tapestry splicing designs. The textures that originally served as the background of the clothing were transferred to the walls, floors, and objects that can be viewed around.

When reading a space from a photograph, start by looking at how the pattern spans different surfaces, and then observe the relationship between the clothing and the background. The repetition of the same image is not necessarily just decorative, but may also connect a single item to the viewing experience of the entire collection.

What are the Ginza-limited products?

DSMG sells two additional limited edition products: a native wool Mock Neck dress, priced at 362,000 yen in Japan; and a flocked denim jacket, priced at 343,000 yen. The two models present different tactile impressions from the neckline, wool surface and flocking effect. The actual material and version still need to be confirmed by product specifications and try-on.

Limited sales information belongs to DSMG stores and cannot be directly applied to the Roppongi venue. If the purpose is to buy a specific style, you should first confirm which store the product is sold in and the current size; if you mainly want to see the space, you can focus on how the walls, furniture and clothes are juxtaposed. You do not need to equate visiting with purchasing.

Before visiting, please distinguish between the two end dates.

ESTNATION Roppongi Hills pop-up until October 23, DSMG until October 25. Although both places are in Tokyo, their shopping malls, business hours and routes are different. When arranging short-term itineraries, priority should be given to the sessions that end earlier, and the latest business announcements of the store shall prevail.

The news announced this time is for pop-up and series sales. There is no ticket price or guaranteed admission mechanism for independent ticketed exhibitions. Therefore, you should not add tickets, reservations or free guided tours by yourself. In the event of in-store activities or crowd control, the actual entry method should still be confirmed with on-site and official information.

Why does a clothing brand also design a room?

A piece of clothing is usually cut into front, back and detailed photos in an online store; a pop-up space can associate the series' materials in the same environment. The arrangement of tapestries and spliced furniture this time provides an entrance beyond reading clothes, and also allows the show atmosphere to continue to unfold in physical retail.

For readers who care about fashion and interior design, these two pop-ups are suitable for understanding Maison Margiela’s autumn and winter direction from the perspective of pattern proportions, surface texture and object placement. For those who want to shop, the most important thing is the store limit, exhibition period and product specifications. Please confirm all three information before arranging a visit.
