One Trailgrip Sole, Three Personalities: Moncler FW26 Footwear Enlists Clarks, Rick Owens & Moon Boot for Very Different Takes

How many different looks can a single mountaineering sole logic support? Moncler's FW26 footwear offers three answers, and the differences are stark enough to feel like separate brands entirely. Tying it all together is Moncler's own Trailgrip Vibram® outsole and GORE-TEX waterproofing system — technology originally built for high-alpine performance — which this season gets broken down and reassembled through the lens of Clarks Originals' classic silhouettes, Rick Owens' deconstructed vocabulary, and Moon Boot's snow-boot DNA.

The most instantly recognizable pair is the Moncler + Clarks Originals Trailgrip Wallabee CTX. The Wallabee's suede last and rounded toe remain untouched, but the lining has been swapped for breathable, waterproof GORE-TEX, and the sole replaced with Moncler's Trailgrip Vibram® rubber outsole — giving a shoe once reserved for city commutes the grip to handle slick terrain.

The pair that pushes stylistically the furthest is the Moncler + Rick Owens Trailgrip Megalace. It mixes heavyweight nylon with leather, finished off with a dramatic lace-up strap system at the rear and a sculptural collar — very much in line with Rick Owens' signature deconstructionist approach, turning the idea of an "outdoor shoe" into an aggressive exercise in silhouette. Meanwhile, the Moon Boot x Moncler Grenoble Icon High Rodeo layers snow-boot insulation with cowboy-boot-style embroidered suede detailing. This pair already made its debut in Aspen, making it the most direct nod to a "ski resort" setting among the three collaborations.

In-House Lineup: Trailgrip Expands, Peak Adds Shearling and Merino Wool

Collabs aside, Moncler is also fleshing out the Trailgrip family itself this season, adding four new versions — Trailgrip GTX, Lite3, Apex GTX, and Craft — built with suede uppers, OrthoLite® insoles, and carbon fiber components, paired with Vibram traction soles for stability and comfort across all terrain.

The winter warmth line tells a different story. The Peak Snowcap and women's Peak Après feature plush shearling, nappa leather, and merino wool, designed for scenarios where boots actually meet snow — not just as a visual shorthand for winter dressing. The brand-new Vera boot series and the archive-flavored Altive Mid round out the everyday waterproof boot offerings, striking a balance between function and formalwear.

Moncler's FW26 footwear will roll out in stages starting in early September, with releases continuing through the end of November. Select styles are already available at Moncler stores, online, and authorized retailers.
