The spaceship stage isn't finalized yet, but the 2027 tour dates already are. On October 2, Muse announced eight European shows set for next January, hitting Lisbon (Jan 10), Bordeaux (Jan 12, 13), Lyon (Jan 16, 17), Madrid (Jan 19, 20), and Valencia (Jan 23). General tickets go on sale October 8 at 9am local time, with fan club presale opening two days earlier on October 6 at the same hour.
The announcement comes fast on the heels of other plans — Muse just wrapped up a North American tour earlier this year, and their November UK dates haven't even kicked off yet. Manchester's Co-op Live has two shows lined up for November 12 and 13, while London's The O2 gets dates on November 15 and 16, with Boston's Dead Poet Society opening. These shows are all in support of the band's tenth studio album, "The Wow! Signal," released this past June, which NME awarded four stars and called the band's "best album in two decades."
Matt Bellamy: Stage Ambitions Pricier Than a House
Frontman Matt Bellamy spoke about the tour's stage ambitions in an NME interview this past summer. "We're trying to build a spaceship — exactly what you'd imagine," he said. "The quote came back more expensive than a house around here in Primrose Hill, and house prices here are already ridiculous." He went on to explain the direction: "We want to do something new, create some laser effects nobody's done before, something classic, with a vibe that leans into space and sci-fi. I think that's really cool for us."
As for whether the spaceship will actually get off the ground, even Bellamy isn't holding his breath: "I don't think it'll actually fly. That's the part that costs more than a house, but it's going to be something cool, I promise."
Muse's European calendar this time actually kicked off with a small show at Brixton Academy this spring — the band's first return to that venue since 2001.
