In a single statement, it wasn't just one show that got cancelled—it was the venue's entire December schedule. Olympia London in West Kensington, whose 7,000-capacity Grand Hall was set to host Royal Blood, Interpol and Bloc Party throughout December, has now had all those shows come to an end.

Royal Blood were originally set to play there on December 3, as a stop on their 2026 UK tour. The Brighton duo put out a statement via social media on October 2: "Along with every other artist scheduled to play Olympia (The Grand Hall) in December, we have just been informed that the venue is facing unforeseen planning issues, forcing the cancellation of all shows there this year."

The statement continued: "We've explored every possible option, but there's no suitable alternative venue in London on December 3. Rather than cause further disruption to everyone's plans right before the Christmas break, we've decided to issue full refunds for all tickets." The band also revealed that their team is arranging a new London show for 2027, with details to be announced later.

Interpol and Bloc Party's co-headline shows originally scheduled for December 4 and 5 at Olympia have also been marked as "cancelled" on Ticketmaster. The two bands are set to kick off a joint UK and European tour next month, but whether these two London shows will be rescheduled or moved to another venue remains unclear.

Not all December dates have been affected. Jamie T's two Olympia shows on December 11 and 12 have been moved to the larger OVO Arena Wembley, with the dates unchanged. The musician is about to embark on a UK tour in support of his new album, *Ghosts (100 Days of Morning)*. According to Olympia's official website, shows on October 15 (Khalid), November 7 (Puscifer), and November 27 (The Damned) will go ahead as planned, relocated to the newly opened British Airways ARC above the West Hall.

Royal Blood's fifth studio album, *Dead Company*, is set for release next month, featuring their latest single "Swallow The Bomb." Frontman Mike Kerr spoke about the album in an earlier NME interview at Reading Festival 2026: "The idea with this record was, could we make something that doesn't let up from start to finish? I have huge respect for anyone who can listen to the whole thing straight through. With every song, we were picturing what it would look like live, making sure it all flows right when it's strung together." He added: "At the end of the day, that's why we started this band in the first place—playing live is the real payoff for us."
