Pokémon Teams Up with Thermos for Insulated Line: Pikachu, Gengar Hide in Grown-Up, Low-Key Colors
Thermos and Pokémon are rolling out a lineup of water bottles, mugs, and insulated bags in muted tones like Stone Black and Frosty Blue, letting the character graphics slip quietly into a commuter bag instead of reading as kid-only merch.
Gengar shows up on a water bottle done in understated Stone Black; Snorlax curls up on the side of a mug finished in a grayish blue. Rather than forcing character art onto the usual bright yellows and reds of kids' gear, this collab deliberately pulls Pokémon down into a color range your desk—and your commute—can actually live with. In Thermos and Pokémon's new "Pokémon Design Series," the point isn't how cute the characters are, but how restrained the palette manages to stay.
The series is built on some of Thermos's own best-selling insulated containers, and the brand hasn't touched the internal insulation structure—character art is simply layered on top, keeping the original heat- and cold-retention performance intact. This isn't a one-off novelty item either; it's spread across three categories—water bottles, mugs, and insulated bags—covering different moments throughout the day.
The lineup's centerpiece is a screw-cap water bottle with a carry handle, available in 600ml and 800ml sizes, both suited for hot or cold drinks. The 600ml version features Pikachu, Eevee, Ditto, and Mew, while the 800ml swaps in Charizard, Snorlax, Gengar, and Mimikyu. For the desk, there's a 350ml mug in designs featuring Pikachu, Snorlax, Ditto, and Jigglypuff. Rounding out the series is a roughly 7-liter insulated bag printed with Pikachu, Psyduck, and Mimikyu.
The whole lineup is tied together by its color palette: Stone Black, Grey Beige, Frosty Blue, and Lilac Grey. The character art still takes center stage on each piece, but the toned-down colors mean this Gengar bottle or Snorlax mug can slide straight into an adult's everyday bag without immediately reading as kids' merchandise. That balancing act is really the whole point of this collaboration.
The Pokémon Design Series is now available on the Thermos Japan Online Shop. No TWD pricing or local availability in Taiwan has been announced yet.
