The Zoom Hyperflight isn't exactly the kind of shoe that tops anyone's retro wishlist. It was one of Nike Basketball's quieter releases from the early 2000s — no Kobe or LeBron-level hype, and rarely brought back for a remake. The fact that SLAM chose this one says a lot about their approach: rather than hype up a sneaker everyone already recognizes, they went digging for a real hooper's shoe that only true heads would clock twice.
The colorway is built around "Safety Orange" — literally the same blinding hue you'd see on construction-site warning gear — layered with White, Smoke Grey, and Black for contrast. The upper is covered in patent leather across large panels, so the orange and black catch a hard shine under light, putting the visual weight on the glossy finish rather than the colorway itself. SLAM's branding is kept low-key on the shoe, giving the collab its identity without stealing the spotlight.
