Los Angeles has never been short on championship pedigree, with the Lakers and Dodgers each claiming their own corner of fans' closets. Now Nike is bringing the two together on a single shoe — Kobe Bryant's retirement-game sneaker, the Air Force 1 Low Protro, dressed up in the Dodgers' road jersey colorway.
The build starts with a Wolf Grey base, keeping the Protro's signature sleek silhouette intact. Bryant's No. 8 is embroidered on the heel in Dodger Blue instead of the familiar Lakers purple and gold, while the "Kobe Bryant" script on the tongue and midsole gets the same color treatment. Look closely at the overlay and you'll spot a ring of red stitching — turns out it's actually shaped like baseball seam stitching, a subtle nod to "Dodgers" without relying on an actual snake motif. The outsole and laces are dipped in blue as well, tying the entire narrative together in one cohesive palette.
Nike and the Kobe Bryant Foundation have continued bringing the Protro's on-court DNA into everyday sneakers in recent years, and this Dodgers theme extends Bryant's love for the city of Los Angeles well beyond the basketball court.
The Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 Low Protro "Dodgers" is expected to release in fall 2026. Pricing and an exact release date have yet to be announced.
