"Women In Blue" Season 2 Gets Release Date, and the Theme Song Cover Says a Lot About the Characters

Taking a '60s anthem about "you don't own me" and dropping it into a 1970s Mexican police station story—the song choice alone makes a statement. The theme song for Apple TV's original series "Women In Blue," "No Soy Tuya," is a Spanish-language cover of Lesley Gore's iconic "You Don't Own Me." And the singer? None other than series star Ximena Sariñana.

"Women In Blue" Season 2 is confirmed to premiere weekly starting August 12, 2026, created by Fernando Rovzar and Pablo Aramendi. Set in 1970s Mexico, the story follows four women trained to become police officers, only to discover after their training that the whole operation was a PR stunt designed to distract the public from an unsolved serial killer case. Season 1 debuted in July 2024, with a cast including Bárbara Mori, Natalia Téllez, Amorita Rasgado, Ximena Sariñana, Miguel Rodarte, Leonardo Sbaraglia, and Christian Tappán.

Both seasons' scores are composed by Lucas Vidal, whose past credits include "Fast & Furious 6," "The Raven," and "Palm Trees in the Snow." Season 1's soundtrack featured 23 tracks—alongside an opening and closing version of "No Soy Tuya" (plus an orchestral rendering)—with the rest scoring key story moments. Track titles directly map to plot events, from "A new decade with policewomen" to "The escape of the Undresser," essentially chronicling the story through music.

Having a cast member perform the theme song isn't common practice—especially when the original carries such a strong sense of self-determination, now applied to a group of policewomen used as PR pawns. The intention behind the song choice is unmistakable. Season 1's full soundtrack is already available on YouTube, while details on Season 2's music have yet to be announced.
