Wyoming's Stablecoin FRNT Switches Gears: Drops LayerZero for Chainlink CCIP, Adds Reserve Verification

Wyoming's stablecoin project just had another under-the-hood overhaul. The Wyoming Stable Token Commission, which oversees the issuance of FRNT, completed a major infrastructure swap last month: after conducting a security review, it fully migrated FRNT's cross-chain infrastructure from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP.

The move also marks an expansion of the Commission's partnership with Chainlink — beyond cross-chain messaging, officials have now introduced on-chain reserve verification for FRNT, letting outsiders check the reserves backing this state-backed stablecoin directly against on-chain data.

For a government-led stablecoin project, swapping out a cross-chain protocol is no small feat — it means FRNT's bridging and messaging logic, originally built on LayerZero, had to be re-wired to fit Chainlink CCIP's architecture. The Commission's decision to run a security review before executing the migration suggests this was a calculated infrastructure call, not just a vendor swap.
