Adobe Premiere Mobile Finally Lands on Android, Free Core Editing Tools Included

Adobe Premiere's mobile app, which launched on iOS over a year ago, is now officially available on Android. Core editing features are free to use, with unlimited watermark-free 4K exports, while AI features are available as paid add-ons.

iOS users have had access to Adobe Premiere's mobile app for over a year, and Android users are just now getting their ticket in. The app is now live on Google Play, but the bar isn't low: devices need to run at least Android 13 and have 5GB or more of RAM, which shuts out quite a few mid-range and budget phones.

The free-to-use strategy is the headline here. Splitting, trimming, cropping, and merging clips, adjusting video speed, plus adding text, effects, and voiceover audio layers—all of these core editing tools come at no cost. Even more notable is the export side: no matter how many 4K videos you export, there's no watermark stamped on the footage, and you can freely resize for whatever platform you need, all without spending a cent.

Where you'll actually feel it in your wallet is the generative AI features. Want to generate AI sound effects or tap into Adobe Firefly's AI asset library? You'll need to pay with additional AI credits. The app also offers add-on cloud storage, which is likewise optional and doesn't touch the free editing tools mentioned above.

Adobe says it plans to bring the Adobe Fonts library to the app, beef up subtitle functionality, and offer a more seamless handoff experience with the desktop version of Premiere—though no specific timeline has been announced yet.
